I have a sunny shelf with two cactus pots and a few small garden figurines. I like the mushroom birdhouse style, but I am not sure whether it would make the display feel too busy. Do you group decorative pieces by color, material, or theme?

For a windowsill planter, I prefer drainage first and then adjust the saucer. A decorative pot without a hole can work as a cachepot, but I would keep the plant in a removable nursery liner.
