I have a few small aloe offsets that keep leaning toward a bright window. Would a wide shallow clay pot help them settle in better, or should I use a slightly deeper nursery pot until the roots fill out?

I would start with drainage and light first, then adjust the planter style around that. Small decorative pots can work well if the plant stays in a removable liner with a gritty mix.
