I want to put a dinosaur fossil replica near a plant shelf without making the desk look cluttered. Would a dark tray, a clear acrylic stand, or a small wood riser make the details easier to see?

For a windowsill planter, I prefer drainage first and then adjust the saucer. A decorative pot without a hole can work as a cachepot, but I would keep the plant in a removable nursery liner.
